Steel & Aluminum Can

In the market, steel & aluminum cans are traded through various collection routes and recycled as cans, cars, construction materials and others. Compared to using new materials in production, when recycled, we are able to save 75% of energy consumption in the case of steel, and 97% of energy consumption in the case of aluminum.

Recycle of PET Bottle

Since the enactment of the Containers and Packaging Recycling Law, PET bottle's collection rate has reached 60% and is continually increasing.

PET Material Recycling
At the plant, collected PET bottles are processed into flake and pellet form to use for fiber products, sheet goods, stationary and others.

PET Chemical Recycling
A chemical decomposition method is used to breakdown PET bottles into its chemical components that enable the PET to be re-used in the PET bottle manufacturing process again.

Current recycling status for the different types of packaging in Japan

1. (1)As for steel and aluminum cans, the recycling percentages were calculated based on the consumption and collection amounts.
2. (2)As for glass, the cullet utilization percentage was calculated based on the glass production amount and the cullet usage amount.
3. (3)As for PET bottles, the collection percentage was calculated based on the production amount and the collection amounts from companies and municipalities.
