      Toyo Seikan Kaisha, Ltd. founded on June 25.
      Head Office and Osaka Plant established in Osaka.

    2. 1919

      Started manufacturing cans with automatic can-making equipment

    3. 1935

      Listed on the Osaka Securities Exchange.

    4. 1944

      Head Office relocated to Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo.

    5. 1949

      Listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

    6. 1958

      Sendai Plant established in Sendai, Miyagi.

    7. 1958

      Production of beer cans started

    8. 1960

      Ibaraki Plant established in Ibaraki, Osaka.

    9. 1961

      Yokohama Plant established in Yokohama, Kanagawa.

    1. 1969

      Production of retortable pouches started.

    2. 1970

      Production of Toyo Seam Can started

      Saitama Plant established in Hiki-gun, Saitama.

      Chitose Plant established in Chitose, Hokkaido.

      Production of DWI cans started

      Ishioka Plant established in Ishioka, Ibaraki.

      Kuki Plant established in Kuki, Saitama.

    1. 1980

      New head office building (Saiwai Building) completed in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo.

    2. 1982

      Production of beverage PET bottles started.

    3. 1983

      Sendai Plant relocated from Saiwai-cho, Miyagino, Sendai to Minato, Miyagino, Sendai.

    4. 1990

      Production of Stay-On-Tab (SOT) ends started.

    5. 1991

      Production of TULC started

    6. 1993

      Toyohashi Plant established in Toyohashi, Aichi.

    7. 1994

      Production of Oxyguard (for cooked rice) started

    8. 1995

      Production of Diamond-Cut Can started.

      Shizuoka Plant established in Makinohara, Shizuoka.

    2. 2001

      Production of aTULC started

    3. 2004

      Technical Headquarters (currently Technical Center) building completed in Yokohama, Kanagawa.

    4. 2009

      Shiga Plant established in Higashiomi, Shiga.

    5. 2009

      Operation of NS (Non-Sterilant) System* started.
      *A new beverage PET bottle filling system that enables aseptic filling at ambient temperature without using sterilant for cleaning bottle inside.

    6. 2011

      Osaki Forest Building completed.

    7. 2012

      Head Office relocated to Shinagawa, Tokyo.

    8. 2013

      Following a shift to a holding company structure as of April 1, 2013, Toyo Seikan Kaisha changed its name to Toyo Seikan Group Holdings, Ltd. and transferred all operations except for group management operations to newly established Toyo Seikan Spin-off Preparation Co., Ltd., which changed its name to Toyo Seikan Co., Ltd. as of the same date.

    9. 2013

      Production of foamed PET bottle Fi-Cell started

    10. 2014

      Production of OXYDEC started

    11. 2017

      The 100th anniversary of establishment.

    12. 2018

      Transferred plastic bottle business mainly for non-beverage applications to Mebius Packaging Co. Ltd., which started operations on April 1.

    13. 2018

      Production of bottle cans started.
